What should be the content of communist intervention in the elections in Punjab?

On January 6, a public meeting will be held at the Baba Bhuja Singh Hall in Mansa, Punjab, to discuss the upcoming state assembly elections in Punjab and what role should communists play in them. Hosted by the Communist Ghadar Party of India, comrades from all communist parties and groups are being invited to participate in this important meeting.

This was decided at a meeting of party activists held in Bhatinda district of Punjab on December 21, 2006. At this meeting, in which apart from activists of CGPI, activists of other communist parties and groups also participated, there was vigorous discussion on the state of the communist movement in Punjab and India and the necessity to break down the road blocks to its advance. The devastation of the peasants and agricultural workers in Punjab was highlighted, as also the imperialist sponsored cultural aggression on the youth and the imposition of the drug culture. Many other contemporary problems were also highlighted and discussed.

Peoples Voice calls upon all communists in Punjab to vigorously work for the success of the Mansa Communist meeting.
